Quality

Quality you can audit

Laser welding is a special process. You cannot fully inspect quality into a weld after the fact, so we control it before and during welding, and we keep the records to prove it.

Our quality policy

Weld Solutions delivers laser welds that meet our customers’ requirements, the first time and on time.

We will not trade quality for delivery. When the two conflict, quality wins and the customer hears from us first.

We control every weld with qualified schedules, qualified operators, and calibrated equipment, and we keep the records to prove it.

We act with integrity, protect our customers’ property and designs, comply with applicable requirements, and continually improve our Quality Management System.

Our quality management system

Quality Manual WS-QM-001

A documented QMS built to ISO 9001:2026, with procedures, forms and records for every requirement.

Welding Specification WS-LWS-001

Our laser welding specification governs every job. Your drawing, specification and purchase order always come first. Available on request.

Contract review

Every order is reviewed before we accept it, so requirements, specifications and acceptance criteria are clear up front.

Qualified weld schedules

Schedules are qualified before production and requalified when material, thickness, joint design or machine settings change beyond defined limits.

Qualified operators

Operators are trained and qualified for the work they do, with qualification records kept on file.

Calibrated equipment

Measuring and inspection equipment calibrated and traceable to NIST.

Traceability

Lot and serial traceability links each part to the machine, weld parameters, operator and date.

Nonconformance control

Documented nonconformance and corrective action. No repair or deviation without your written approval.

Certificate of Conformance

A Certificate of Conformance ships with every order.

Inspection and testing

We verify what is inside the weld

  • 100% visual inspection at 10X to WS-LWS-001. Unless your print says otherwise, every weld is inspected to Class 1, our most demanding level.
  • Metallographic weld cross section preparation, analysis and measurement, including weld penetration, weld width, fusion profile and heat affected zone.
  • First articles with cross sections when required.
  • Dimensional inspection with calibrated equipment.

Certified partner network

When a job requires a certified quality system or a process we do not run in house, it is performed by one of our vetted partners, and we stay with you until it is done.

  • ISO 13485 certified quality systems for medical device work
  • ISO 9001 and AS9100 certified quality systems
  • Nadcap accredited welding facilities
  • Electron beam welding

Weld Solutions’ own AS9100 registration and Nadcap welding accreditation are planned. Our quality documents are available to customers on request, and customer audits are welcome.
